Cult of Griot's

It’s hard not to love a company who’s slogan is “Have fun in your garage”.  It’s even their registered trademark.  It’s similarly hard to not love spending time in your garage when there’s a MINI in it.  So you can imagine the fun Jeff & I had this morning at a clinic put on by Rob, a product specialist for Griot’s Garage, supplier of all the things you’d want for fun in your garage (of course).  We went to the Park Place Auto Salon, which stocks a large number of Griot’s products, and offer detailing as well as a hand-wash your car for you with Griot’s goodness for $20.  We hung out in the detail shop for more than an hour while Rob showed us the proper technique for getting a car from grimy to sparkling.  He did some great demos on a black M5, and was quick to point out that the last two Pebble Beach Concours winners were cared for top-to-bottom with Griot’s products.  As you’d guess, they has a product and tool for every step.

We both left a bit poorer, but with some new knowledge on technique, and a few new products.  Jeff was on his way to Paint-Prep, Machine Polish 3, and wax (Best of Show or Paint Sealant).  Since I did a Paint Sealant project last week (I probably should have waited for the clinic too), I got some One-step car wash that should help me keep the MINI clean even when it’s not great car wash weather…

Join the Cult of Griot’s like Jeff and I – and “Have fun in your garage!” (registered trademark of Griot’s Garage)
