Community developed cars
A few weeks ago I learned about Quirky.com where the Quirky community designs and builds simple-ish products (computer gizmos, shelves, desk accessories, etc.). But this is something completely different: Local Motors: community members design, vote, and finalize plans for cars. You can sign up to buy one of these cars, and then go help build it yourself. Wow.
